A retro-futuristic universe and an imminent danger from Galactus, one of Marvel’s most well-known foes, are hinted at in the debut teaser for The Fantastic Four: debut Steps.

Having been eagerly awaiting the Kevin Feige-led studio to produce a film featuring Marvel’s First Family, as the group is known, Fantastic Four is one of the highly anticipated Marvel films in a long time.

In the comics, the Fantastic Four are a fundamental part of the Marvel Universe, which was established by writer Stan Lee and illustrator Jack Kirby’s Fantastic Four No. 1 in 1961. However, the property never received the attention it deserves on the big screen. It worked for 20th Century Fox for decades, producing two mediocre films in the 2000s and a much disapproved of film in 2015. The Fantastic Four, which Roger Coreman made in 1994, was infamously never published.

Marvel said in late 2020 that Spider-Man director Jon Watts will lead a Fantastic Four film, while Disney acquired the rights for both X-Men and Fantastic a total of four when it purchased Fox in March 2019. In the end, he left, and Matt Shakman of WandaVision took over as director.

Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, while Vanessa Kirby plays Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn plays Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays Ben Grimm/The Thing. Other celebrities include John Malcovich, Paul Walter Hauser, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Julia Garner as a female Silver Surfer.

The film’s current script, written by Eric Pearson, is scheduled for release on July 25.
